![]() Norris covered both political parties’ conventions and anchored multi-hour debates, plus election and inauguration live broadcasts. The association recognized her body of work, particularly for her coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign. Last year Norris was named Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists. Norris is a frequent guest on NBC’s “ Meet the Press” and “ The Chris Matthews Show.” And her voice is heard by millions weekday afternoons on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” She has covered topics including education, poverty and other social issues. Norris has been a correspondent for ABC News and reported for the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times. Toni Morrison, a winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, called “The Grace of Silence” “an insightful, elegant rendering of how the history of an American family illuminates the history of our country.” Proceeds will go to UNC student scholarships. The book will be for sale at 20 percent off, and Norris will sign copies.
